- Chemical Mass Balance and Factor Analysis Models, also called Linear Unmixing, for Air Pollution Data. A PhD thesis by Marcel Wolbers has lead to a JASA paper to appear in December 2005.
- Multivariate Reaction Monitoring
Other applied research problems:
- The log-normal distribution is often treated by statisticians as a simple concept -- a normal distribution after logarithmic transformation. Why is this not the whole story?
- Dose-Response Models in pesticide research.

Most of these research topics and many data analysis studies that I supervise are connected to the environmental sciences.

I have written an introductory textbook in German called " Statistische Datenanalyse. Eine Einführung für Naturwissenschaftler", published by Vieweg, Braunschweig, Germany, 1995, 3rd edition 2000.
