Dear list memebers,

I was looking at affycomp benchmark results and found some entries that
I do not understand.
Can anyone tell me what '+32' and '+16' mean in MAS+32 and PLIER+16?
I think they have to do with variance stabilization but I would
appreciate if anyone
could give my further details.

In addition, can anyone point me to a technical reference regarding the
Affymetrix new PLIER summarization method? Is it a whole solution, i.e.
background substraction + probe level normalization + probeset
expression estimation, or just the latter? In that case which
background and normalization steps are advice to be used with?

Thanks,
