[BioC] BioC2006 conference scholarship program, applications due 15 June 2006

BioC2006 Conference Scholarship Program

Three scholarships will be offered through
auspices of the American Statistical Association
Section on Statistical Computing and the Bioconductor
Foundation of N.A., Inc.

A) one $500 travel scholarship for a student-contributor
B) one $500 travel scholarship for a developer-contributor
C) one $1000 travel scholarship for an international student-contributor

Scholarships will be awarded in the form of reimbursements for
documented travel/lodging expenses up to amount of award.  Winners
will also be exempt from payment of conference registration fees.

Applications for scholarship support take the form of an
essay of at most 250 words describing the relevance of Bioconductor
and the BioC2006 conference to the applicant's research.

Applications must be provided on a single page in PDF or RTF
format with indication of name, e-mail address, scholarship track
(student-contributor, developer-contributor, international
student-contributor), text of essay, word count.

Potential winners in the student tracks will be contacted to
certify current enrolled status at time of decision.

Applications must be e-mailed to biocworkshop at fhcrc.org.

Applications must be received by 15 June 2006 to be considered.
Decisions will be made by a subgroup of the Bioconductor Core
developers, and will be announced in early July.  Judges'
decisions are final.
