Post-Doctoral Position in Genetic Statistics.

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position at the Department of
Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University.  The successful candidate
will work with Dr. Angelo Canty on a Genome Canada funded project to examine
the interaction between genetics and environment in the pathogenesis of Type
I Diabetes using rodent models.  The fellow will work on the development of
methodology to analyze genetic data including gene expression microarray data.
Other duties will include teaching one course in statistics each term.

Candidates should have, or expect to shortly receive, a PhD in statistics or
biostatistics, have good computing skills in S-Plus/R and C or Fortran and be
comfortable working with real as well as simulated data.  Prior experience
with genetic statistics would be helpful but is not necessary.  

The position can start at any time before September 1, 2006.  The annual 
stipend is $40,000 plus a $2,000 grant for research expenses. The expected
term of the position is for two years.
