host an ASA and IMS co-sponsored conference on statistics in biology
this October 13 to 15.

theory, methods, and applications motivated by problems from the
biological sciences.

Contributed talks or posters by students expecting a Ph.D. in 2009 or

especially welcome. Limited financial support is available for such
participants.

Special invited sessions will include talks by:
- James Booth, Professor and Chair, Department of Biological Statistics
and Computational Biology, Cornell University
- Brad Efron, Max H. Stein Professor of Humanities and Sciences,
Professor of Statistics, Stanford University
- Xihong Lin, Professor of Biostatistics, Harvard University

University of California, San Francisco
- Michael Newton, Professor of Statistics and of Biostatistics and
Medical Informatics, University of Wisconsin-Madison
