Oggetto: [BioC] Rafael Irizarry wins prestigious award

I want to congratulate Bioconductor Core Team Member Rafael Irizarry
on winning 2 awards for his work.

On August 6, Rafael was awarded The Committee of Presidents of
Statistical Societies (COPSS) President's Award. The award is
presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the
statistics profession. Only 1 award is granted annually. This is
considered the most prestigious award for younger investigators
in Statistics. The citation is not yet up on the COPSS web page, but
I know that Rafael's contributions to bioinformatics and Bioconductor
were among the many works for which he received the award.

On August 5, Rafael also became a Fellow of the American Statistical
Association.
