If you're working with R in Windows, then right click on the R icon on
your desktop, go to 'Properties' and in the 'Target' window, you should
see something like:<br>
"C:\Program Files\R\rw1061\bin\Rgui.exe"<br><br>
you can add --max-mem-size=1700M to that so it looks like:<br>
"C:\Program Files\R\rw1061\bin\Rgui.exe"
--max-mem-size=1700M<br><br>
You can also increase your windows paging file (NT, 2000, XP)/ virtual
memory (95, 98, ME) to 2GB if you have the disk space. (Thanks to Ben
Bolstad for walking me through all of this when I had the
problem).<br><br>
