Remote session

Hello ess-help,

I'm trying to run a remote R session on a linux box using ESS.  Eventually, 
I'd like to run remote sessions on win 2000 boxes if possible.  I have 
XEmacs installed on win 2000, with ESS and Cygwin.  I try the command

ESS-elsewhere ;(Thanks Tony!)

but it's not clear where or how I can log in to the remote machine.

Has anyone tried this protocol?
