R-alpha: plotting empirical distribution function -- plot.step

Your plot.step should definitely come with R.  The question is, should
there be a class `step' or something similar?  Is there a generic way of
representing step functions?  Then having e.g. print and plot for ECDF
would be automatic, which would be very nice, imho.
