No, we're not.  In the current stage, we don't require a FORTRAN
compiler or f2c.  What you can (should) do now is to add "-lf2c" to the
.so rule in src-c/Makefile and hope that everyone has libf2c.  This will
of course mean that those who have a ``plain C only'' environment (no
FORTRAN compiler, no f2c) will not be able to install the package.  But
then again, in the near future they won't be able to compiler R anyway.
