Indeed this seems to have been the problem. I first tried to configure and make
on my new workstation with Solaris 2.6, but ran into a problem because
apparently I need a newer version of gcc. I then did a "make clean", telneted to
an older machine with Solaris 2.5.1, re-ran configure and then make. However,
this does not seem to get things clean enough - I guess configure does not
re-configure?

When I started completely clean from the tar file the problem seems to have gone
away.

Thanks,
Paul Gilbert
