This begs the question: Is anything in config.{cache,log,status}
necessary for R to run, then? (Or could it become so?) Otherwise
"acclean" *should* probably be made as part of "clean"

I know there's a lot of tradition and conventions in how to setup
makefiles, but wouldn't it be handy with a "rebuild" type target?
