axis ignores srt/crt (PR#249)

I'm not sure if you are right...

The standard way to get rotated axis labels used to be
    par(las = {0,1,2,3})

The doc (?par) has

     las: numeric in {0,1,2,3}; the style of axis labels.  0 =
          always parallel to the axis [default], 1 = always
          horizontal, 2 = always perpendicular to the axis,
          3 = always vertical.

Try
	par(mfrow=c(2,2))
	for(las in 0:3) plot(1, las = las, main = paste("las =",las))
