It *does* have a problem on Linux too, it just doesn't protest quite
as badly:

$ R -d gdb
shift: shift count must be <= $#
GNU gdb 4.17.0.11 with Linux support

I fixed this for 0.65.1 a couple of days ago.

PS to everyone: When you follow up on a Problem Report, please make
sure that you include the original PR# in the subject field so that yo
don't open a new PR#. This is easily done by 'reply' in most mailers.
And please also avoid sending reports both to r-bugs and the
mailinglists (where they will appear with no PR# and subsequent
discussion will not get filed.)
