Hello,

We're experiencing problems with R 1.0.1 on the HP-UX system.
The most serious one is that the random-number generators don't work:

        R> runif(100)
        Error in runif(100) : .Random.seed[0] is not a valid Normal type

        R> .Random.seed
        [1] 18851  3338  2439

Is this a subscripting error?  Strange because building it on linux
works just fine.

Smaller errors I've noticed...  The command-line history doesn't work.
It was built by our computer-support people, and I think they had
trouble with the libraries for that.  (Contact is Ben Sherman,
bsherman@divms.uiowa.edu).  Also help.start() generates a bunch of
error messages:

R> help.start()
If netscape  is already running,        it is *not* restarted,
 and you must switch to its window.
Otherwise, be patient..
