I'm not certain, but I think what happened was that the first time I ran R CMD
check with R 1.2  (via my Makefile) I did not get things quite right and it ran
in my source tree rather than where I intended it to run.  (There are some
changes from 1.1.) I am getting a segfault with one example, but I haven't
tracked it down yet.
