At the Vienna meeting of R-core and friends after DSC-2001 we decided to
set up some SIGs (special interest groups) in various topics. The first of
these has been set up on R (and S) and Databases.

There is an area on the developer web site at

http://developer.r-project.org/db/

and a mailing list (thanks to Martin Maechler) with a home page at

http://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-sig-db

also linked off the developer site.

If you are interested please subscribe this week: I will start up the
discussion with a discussion paper early next week.
