yes,  bug.report()  *does* all this already (when system resources are
available), using getOption("mailer") and/or argument  `method = '

I think what we want is modularizing  bug.report()
by having it call a new  Sys.mail()
function passing it the subject, from & body  (and may be more).

A good idea!
