Nor is it intended to be, but what does this have to do with your subject line?

The help page says the usage is

     rep(x, times, ...)

     ## Default S3 method:
     rep(x, times, length.out, each, ...)

so your usage is not as documented: you are not using the default method, 
and you are not reporting on rep.int.
