[Rd] Solaris Installation assstance

We need to see what happened prior to that message: plaes give the 
previous 20 lines of output.

We do know R 2.1.1 works on Solaris 2.8 out of the box: the see the 
comments in the R-admin manual.  For example, what compilers are you 
using? What make?
