Hi! Upon some investigation it turned out that the bug is *not* actually in R. I've uninstalled "ghostscript" Debian package and reverted back to "gs-gpl" Debian package, and the problem gone. That means that the bug is either in new ghostscript or in the way R interacts with it. Reassigning the bug accordingly. Andrey
