Ah, I think you're talking about the Mavericks builds. That one is indeed using GNU Fortran 4.8.2, but it should technically work even with the 4.2 CRAN Fortran. The only issue is that it uses the gfortran-4.8 name with version, so apart from symlinking the versions the easiest way is to install the binary above.
