Ah, my bad, you're right of course.

sum(abs(diff(diff( sort(x))))) < eps

for some reasonable eps then, would do as a oneliner, or

all(abs(diff(diff(sort(x)))) < eps)

or

max(abs(diff(diff(sort(x))))) < eps
