My problems are very similar with R-63.1 on Red Hat linux 5.1. './configure'
and 'make' seem to work and R-binary and the R script are created but when I
type R I get 'bash: R command not found'.

When I see the config.log file It seems that the problem is related to the
conftest.c program with gcc. The result in the config.log file is 1>&5.
Futhermore no -xxxx files or directories are available after the gcc conftest.c
command.

Is there anything to do?
