[R] problem installing R 0.90

[mathieu]

hello all,
when running ./configure in my [new] R-0.90 directory, the process stop
at the following step :

(...)
checking whether g77 and gcc agree on int and double...

can anybody tell me what's the problem (I believe it is due to g77 but
what can I do?)
