I think "heterogeneous Poisson process" is OK for a Poisson
process where the intensity varies over time. But there is no
"process" here, only a distribution obtained by compounding the
Gamma and Poisson. 

A (single) distribution cannot in my mind be heterogeneous, unless
perhaps if it's "lumpy", "multimodal", etc...
