[R]:Stepwise discriminant analysis

Dear Users,

I have trying to work out if it is possible to do stepwise discriminant
analysis in R, but have not been very successful. The function step(),
which does a stepwise selection of variables can only be used for lm,
glm and aov.

Can anyone help?
