Hmm ... looks like gcc's math.h is trying to fix a ``broken'' system
header file.  I am not sure what ANSI thinks about srandom, my Linux
manpage says

       #include <stdlib.h>

       long int random(void);
       void srandom(unsigned int seed);
       char *initstate(unsigned int seed, char *state, size_t n);
       char *setstate(char *state);

What do the conflicting header files think?

Duncan and whoever else has access to SGI---anything special one needs
on SGI?
