If the R math commands are insufficient for your purposes and you
intend to include the plots in a LaTeX document (as EPS files), you
can use psfrag instead or in addition to what R produces. See the
documentation for psfrag (can be found in a standard tetex
installation) or search for psfrag on the TeX FAQ:
