[R] Possible bug in apply()

Thanks for confirming this on i586 linux-mandrake R-1.1.1 .

Sorry about the typo: the file is named 'distr.dat', but in the code all
references to it (except the first) are shown as 'dist.dat'. I re-named
the file while reducing the example. And yes, I forgot to mention
load(ctest).
