I have recently installed the R 1.1.1 from the deb-package on cran (on
Debian 2.2) so I don't think there is a problem with the deb-package. I
didn't use apt-get, though; I downloaded the r-base-foo.deb manually and
installed with dpkg. The atlas2 and other packages that r-base depended
on, I installed with dselect. I encountered no problems during the process.
