[R] behaviour of plot(...,type="l")

on 
Linux 2.2.16 i686 with

R : Copyright 2000, The R Development Core Team
Version 1.1.1  (August 15, 2000)

> plot(rnorm(100000),type="l")
> plot(rnorm(100000))

 works both well (1e05)
