[R] R-1.2.0 for windows crashes

On the US keyboard, Shift-3 is a number sign ("octothorp" I heard it
called once), and it's obviously safe.  To get a UK £ symbol you can
do Alt-0163, and that's safe too in Rgui 1.2.2.  Does Alt-0163 cause
the crash on your system?  Do you get the crash in the current
release?
