[R] map projections

I've tried GMT about a year ago on these types (Lambert Equal Area
Azimuthal) of mapping technique, and found GMT to be pretty good at it.

It is also reasonably easy to use, with its provided detailed documentation
you should have no problem learning it.

Not sure about other mapping tools listed on www.freegis.org though....
