[R] Solaris install problem ... mcount

Compiler version and flags?  I don't have this in CConverters.o on Solaris
2.7 with

markov% cc -V
cc: Sun WorkShop 6 update 1 C 5.2 2000/09/11

and suspect it's related to coverage or profiling.
