[R] R on MacOS X

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any luck installing on X/Darwin?
I'd be very grateful if you could drop me a note if you've been successful. I've built the binaries, but the ./configure goes wrong towards the end, with lots of messages telling me about "unescaped new lines".
