[R] barplots with pictex

A bug has been fixed, yes.  If you look at the bugs list in NEWS, you might
well want to upgrade, and there have been considerable performance and
feature advances too.

As a more general point, moving from 1.x.0 to 1.x.1 is definitely a good
idea, as the changes in 1.x releases often break a few other things.
