[R] What version to choose...

Hello,

My statistical group would like to get R up and running. Right now, we're
deciding between putting it on a Solaris 2.6 Ultra 10 station or a Win2K
server Intel box.

From what I can tell about the package from the on-line documentation, it
seems that the unix version would be the better one to go with - however,
it does seem as though it would be better on a Linux box. As for using it,
the users have a mixed bunch of Ultra10's and PC's from which they can all
X-window to the Solaris box or access the NT server.

Which way to you recommend going?

Thank you!

Christine.
