[R] Problem with setenv R_LIBS

Hi all,



Not so long ago I had  "Package Index"
(file:/home/woodstock/hoffmann/.R/doc/html/packages.html) 

refusing to show my packages although $R_LIBS showed the correct path.

Now the solution was to use the full path:

/home/woodstock/hoffmann/R/Sources/lib

instead of

~/R/Sources/lib


Has anyone seen this behaiour before and is it documented in some FAQ?
