You can have all standard' lists in Rd as well:

\itemize	unnumbered lists
\enumerate	numbered lists
\describe	description lists

The R sources have several examples where these are used.

[The fact that \arguments and \value are specific \itemize lists, in
some sense, is mostly historical.]
