[R] Plotting

Hi!

I've got a problem with the plot command in R:
I have implemente a tcltk gui. By pressing a button 
an sql query is executed to fetch some data. After that the data
should be displayed by a plot command.
My problem is that, pressing the button the first time after the start of the program the data is collect and a graphic device is opened. But no graphs are displayed. Sometimes only parts of the coordinates system or the labels of the axes are shown. Pressing the button again, all works fine. 

Has anyone an Idea?
