Dear srinivasa,
i've look at your file.. There is an empty cell (species: the second 
RO81, row:76) that crash the CAIV function !!.
So you must modify your file, save it in text and do:

Eplank_read.table("Zoo_plankton.txt",heder=T,sep="\t")
matE_data.matrix(Eplank[,3:67]) #dim(matE): 296 by 65
CAIV(matE)
