[R] Editing R graphics

xfig is one that R can talk to directly. It takes some getting used as
the user-interface is a little idiosyncratic but it is pretty powerful
once you get used to it. The GIMP is pretty good. You might also try one
of the vector packages such as Kontour (aka Killustrator).
