[R] installing packages from CRAN, is this approach stupid?

Right -- actually, I just added the appropriate packages (the only
real failure was databases and XML, and they were reasonably easy to
fix when reasonable).

Another thought would be solution by copious warnings at the end about
reasons for failure, but I'm not the one who would be reading the bug
reports (or checking in the warnings about why failures will and
should occurs :-).

Actually, it provides a nice list of packages failed, which turned out
to be useful in fixing the ones I wanted...
