[R] scalable fonts problem on Linux

Hello R users,

I can't do demo(graphics) on my Linux box because it aborts after giving me
this message on the third plot:

Error in title(main = "January Pie Sales", cex.main = 1.8, font.main = 1) :
X11 font at size 22 could not be loaded

I assume from a previous message in this mailing list that this is a
Helvetica font that needs to be rescaled. To address this problem I have
installed all fonts that seem to be necessary, including freefont,
gsfonts-X11, sharefont, xfonts-100dpi, xfonts-75dpi, xfonts-base,
xfonts-scalable, xfs, xfstt, and others that looked pertinent, yet this
still has not solved the problem. Any ideas what I should do next (besides
turning it into a bitmap)? Many plots besides the demos get aborted for
this reason.

Thanks,
Stewart
