[R] Smoothing estimated probabilities

(I just bought a copy of Prof. Gu's new book at the JSM, so I'll be learning
more about `gss'.)

I believe Loader's `locfit' package also does smooth logistic regression via
local polynomial (as `sm'), but with several automatic bandwidth selection
procedures.

gam() in the recommended package `mgcv' can also be used, I believe.
