[R] Building R on Windows

I got several answers to this problem, all of them from Brian Ripley!
Brian pointed out an error in an earlier patched version and also told
me that some messages about ignored errors were harmless. After that,
and after some trial and error (you really have to follow the instruction
_exactly_), I succeeded in building today's patched version (2002-01-15).

If someone is interested in grabbing it, SetupR.exe can be found at

http://capa.stat.umu.se/~gb/MLife

where you also will find my R package 'MLife', which is a complement to
'survival', in fact it depends on survival. It can perform sampling of
survivors in risk sets and include external covariates (calendar time
series) in an easy manner. There are also some utility functions that
create rectangular 'cuts' in the Lexis diagram, so you can analyse age
specific 'event histories' for a given calendar time period with 'coxph'
in survival, etc, etc. Try it! Comments are welcome.

Many thanks to Brian!
