Hi there,

Finally I got this "Rcomd SHLIB" to like me! The reason was because I did
not log in my computer as "administrator", which caused some problem of perl
being found... Anyway, thank you all for the prompt and intelligent
suggestions.

Best,
Yunda

Hi there,
Thanks you all for the reply and suggestion. But I still could not get it
run-:( Where can I find a detailed manual or something on this? I am
really desperated...

OK. Here is what I have checked:
(1) recent version of perl: yes, I downloaded it from ActivePerl and
installed it under C:/program files/perl
(2) R version: I just updated it to 1.5.1
(3) Rcmd.exe: yes, I have it under ../rw1050/bin
(4) source installation files: yes, I have ../src/gnuwin32 under my R
directory
(5) I've also set the path of perl "C:/program files/perl" to user
environment variable "PATH" under Control Panel->system on my PC

What I did was to type: Rcmd SHLIB --help
under .../rw1050/bin> in DOS environment

But it still did not work and the error message was
-- 'perl' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. -- What do you think I have done wrong?

Thanks a lot for any suggestion!

Best,
Yunda
