[R] An "update.packages()" problem?

You're mostly right again.  When I rechecked the Windows 2000 box, MASS was 
still at an earlier version, as was cluster, but rpart had fully updated to 
the current version despite being loaded at run time.  I reran a --vanilla 
session and both VR and cluster updated correctly.
