[R] RGui error

R on windows users,

I've noted a similar problem reported before [Rd] Rgui.exe crash on Windows
2000 (PR#912) but could not find the solution.

I have been running R1.4.1 in windows 2000 since the day it was released
with plenty of RAM for my purposes.

In two of my .Rdata files I run TclTk as a menuing system to invoke a series
of functions for plotting statistics etc. On occasions, currently
unpredictably, R terminated with a "PROGRAM ERROR dialogue box... RGui.exe
has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart
the program. An error log is being created" I would normally be able to
restart R with little in the way of inconvenience through frequent image
saving.

This time is different. When I attempted to restart, the same dialogue
appeared immediately, terminating the program and the .Rdata could not be
accessed. Also, all other databases could not be accessed even though they
were not party to the initial malfunction.

The RGui is invoked and flashes up quickly before disappearing with the
final statement being:
Error: cannot find unused template file

I reinstalled R 1.4.1 and rebooted with no relief and none of my databases
(10), or copies of new ones, are now functioning. I fear the worse.

Any suggestions at all would be most welcome
